The American Dental Association recommends you see your dentist at least twice a year for a comprehensive exam. Professional Cleanings

The American Dental Association recommends you visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings and exams in order to prevent gum disease and decay. Most people are seen twice a year with having radiographs taken once a year. Some people require more frequent recalls to help control plaque and calculus build up.

Fluoride

We recommend fluoride varnish for our children and adult patients. It is a highly concentrated form of fluoride which is applied to the tooth’s surface usually after a cleaning. It is not permanent but continues to stay in contact with the tooth for several hours. It can be used to help prevent decay, remineralize tooth structure, and treat tooth sensitivity.

Digital Radiographs

We currently use digital technology to capture all our radiographs. By using digital radiography, we significantly decrease the amount of radiation exposed to our patients. This technology also allows us to put the images on the computer screen so you, the patient, can see them.

Intra-Oral Camera

We use intra-oral cameras to take pictures of areas of concern or areas of improvement so you, the patient, can see what we see. There is no radiation involved with this process.

Periodontal disease treatment

Periodontal disease can be treated in office with a non-surgical procedure called scaling and root planing. Deposits are removed deep under the gums to help improve the health of the bone and gums. Continued good home care and frequent maintenance cleanings (every 3-4 months) are important to maintain good oral health.

Arestin

Arestin is a prescription antibiotic approved by the FDA and is used together with scaling and root planing procedures to treat periodontal disease. Arestin is different from other antibiotics taken as a pill because it is placed right where it is needed. It is a painless procedure and dissolves on its own.  For more information visit: www.arestin.com

Child Cleanings and Exams

We accept patients of all ages! We believe that good dental health and good experiences begin at a very young age. We encourage parents to bring children in at an early age to monitor development. Generally, we begin routine care appointments for children at age three, and we spend the time necessary to introduce ourselves and procedures to allow trust to be established. We strive to make sure visits are a positive experience.

Teeth Whitening Options

You can whiten your teeth anywhere at any time! We offer two take home whitening options: strips or trays. Both are safe, effective and can be done on your schedule. Call us today to receive more information and to start the process of obtaining a brighter and whiter smile!

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer screenings are part of our routine exams and are essential in the early detection of cancerous or pre-cancerous lesions. Oral cancer strikes an estimated 34,000 Americans per year with more than 25% of those dying from the disease. The best prevention is to eliminate risk factors such as tobacco and alcohol use and see your dentist regularly for check-ups. Even those without teeth are susceptible to oral cancer and should be screened annually. Call today for your exam.

Nitrous Oxide

Does dental anxiety keep you away? With the use of nitrous oxide, your appointment can be anxiety free with you returning to normal activities right after your appointment. This is best suited for those with mild to moderate anxiety. During your visits with us, we can discuss this option and create a personalized treatment plan to help create a relaxing and worry-free environment for you.

Conscious Sedation

Ever drive to a dental office just to turn around in the parking lot and return home due to fear and anxiety? This is a great option for you! By definition, conscious sedation is produced by the administration of certain medications and is an altered level of consciousness that still allows the patient to respond to physical stimuli and verbal commands and to maintain an unassisted airway. It allows for an anxiety free appointment. The patient is continually monitored during the appointment and it is required the patient have a driver the day of the appointment. We are more than happy to discuss this option for you and prepare a personalized treatment plan for you.

Mouth Guards and Occlusal Guards

Do you play sports? Do you grind or clench your teeth? Do you wake up in the mornings with a headache? A mouth guard may be a good item for you to consider helping protect your teeth, lips, cheeks, and gums from trauma while engaging in physical activities. Or you may need an occlusal guard which is worn at night to protect your teeth from the trauma of clenching and grinding. We offer soft and hard varieties.

TMJ/TMD

During the comprehensive exam, an evaluation of your bite (occlusion) is performed and treatment recommendations are reviewed which may involve an occlusal guard or NTI appliance.
