Gallery
Below is a gallery of before and after photos highlighting various dental procedures done by Scheumann Dental Associates.
Alloy to Resin Fillings
The old alloy/silver filling was breaking down creating defective margins and stress fractures in the tooth. The silver filling was removed and a tooth colored filling was placed to protect the tooth and alleviate internal stress.
Anterior Crowns & Veneers
A combination of Crowns and Veneers were placed on the 4 front teeth to restore function and aesthetics.
Cosmetic Bonding
This patient fell when younger and chipped her 2 front teeth. Composite bonding was completed at the time. With time a color discrepancy became apparent.
After whitening, the patient had the cosmetic bonding redone. Now the color blends beautifully and seamlessly.
Porcelain Crown
This patient fell and broke his front teeth. Due to the extent of damage crowns were recommended. The patient decided to whiten first and then the crowns were completed leaving the patient with a beautiful smile!
Porcelain Veneers
This patient was unhappy with the space between his front teeth. Four veneers were completed to reshape the teeth and close the space leaving the patient with a brilliant smile!
Whitening
This patient had noticed their teeth darkening with age and was unhappy with the color. This patient does not normally show their bottom teeth when talking or smiling so decided to whiten just the top for now. An impression was taken of the top teeth and a whitening tray plus whitening gel was given to the patient with instructions.
After 2 weeks of whitening, the patient has a brighter and whiter smile! This patient is very happy with the results and amazed with how easy it was.
Alloy to Resin Fillings
The old alloy/silver filling was breaking down creating defective margins and stress fractures in the tooth. The silver filling was removed and a tooth colored filling was placed to protect the tooth and alleviate internal stress.
Internal Bleaching/Cosmetic Bonding
This patient experienced trauma to his front teeth at a young age. The teeth received endodontic therapy and tooth-colored restorations. Over the years, the teeth have slowly darkened due to the trauma, and the repairs have chipped. Internal bleaching was completed to whiten the teeth from the inside out and then new tooth colored material was bonded to the edges to fix the chips and match the patient’s new tooth color.
Porcelain Crown
The patient had large fillings on the front teeth that were discoloring and aging. All porcelain crowns were completed for the four front teeth to improve esthetics and longevity.
Crowns
The two front teeth were discoloring due to history of trauma and were susceptible to fracturing. Porcelain (white colored) crowns were placed on the front teeth to improve aesthetics and provide protection.
Porcelain Inlay
This patient was experiencing pain when chewing. During the clinical exam, a fracture was noted in his tooth. The tooth was otherwise healthy so a porcelain inlay was completed in order to treat the fracture but conserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. The patient is now doing well and has no pain.
Implants
The patient lost his lower molar and had an implant placed. The first photo is of the implant in place prior to cementing the crown. The second photo shows the implant crown cemented on creating a very esthetic and functional tooth for the patient.
Bridge
The patient experienced trauma to the front tooth and the extent of the trauma created a hopeless prognosis for the tooth. The patient also had a hidden front tooth on the right side and a peg lateral (malformed) tooth on the left side. By removing the hidden tooth and the remaining broken tooth, a bridge was placed that addressed all the esthetic and functional concerns. It also recreated a beautiful smile for the patient by replacing the missing teeth. (Please refer to the Procedures page for more information on bridges.)
Pediatric Trauma
This patient (child) fell and broke his front teeth at school. Dental bonding was the best option for this patient. Resin material was shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth.
Sports Injury
Sports injury, kid head butting you injury, whatever it may be.... we can help restore your smile! In this particular case, the injury happened late in the evening and we were able to see patient next day and restore the tooth with a direct composite. Patient was back to smiling his healthy beautiful smile in less than 24 hours after injury!
